The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award Announces the First Season of Dialogue Sessions
The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award is launching its First Season of Dialogue Sessions starting on the 18th of this October, which consists of a series of seminars hosting a constellation of Bahraini officials, researchers and academics. The First Season of Dialogue Sessions is one of the Award’s initiatives supporting the efforts that are in the interest of spreading the culture of scientific dialogue and enriching the discussion on topical topics.

The Dignitary Khalid Mohamed Kanoo, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Hamad Kanoo Award, confirmed that the First Season of Dialogue Sessions aims to shed light on the most prominent scientific and economic topics and present them in a professional, scientific manner by stakeholders and specialists in order to increase awareness about them and create a space for sober discussion related to them. 

The Dignitary Kanoo expressed his happiness with the participation of a constellation of senior state officials in the sessions, as well as a group of specialists known for their contributions in the fields of science and economies, stressing the keenness of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award to support qualitative initiatives and events that contribute to the advancement of science and economies, whether in the Gulf or at the level of the Arab countries.

The Dialogue Sessions, which are held over a period of three months, include economic topics, including (Commerce and Industry: Prospects and Aspirations), scientific topics, and topics related to education, including (Climate Change, Achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions) and (What’s New in Education Systems in 2023). Participating in the Dialogue Sessions are His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr Zayed Al Zayani, His Excellency the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Fatima Al Sairafi, and His Excellency the President of the University of Bahrain. Jawaher Al Mudhaki, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB), the Banker Adnan Yusuf. 

The First Sessions will be held on 18 October, 2022 at the ZK Hotel in Juffair, and are entitled (Economies of the GCC Countries in 2023: Opportunities and Challenges). The economic expert Dr Akbar Jaffari, and the Director of Directorate of the Studies and Research at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy the President of the Society of Economists, Dr Omar Al-Ubaydli will participate in the Dialogue Sessions.

The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, established 24 years ago, comes within the framework of the interest of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Commercial Group in supporting projects of public service and effective contribution to religious, cultural and humanitarian projects, supporting the path of knowledge and encouraging thinkers and scientists from the people of Bahrain and Arab countries in the fields of Islamic studies, finance, economies and business, and the various fields of science and literature. The Award holds the name of the founder of the Commercial Group, Haji Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, in commemoration of his tribute, as he was known for his interest in knowledge and scientists and helping students of knowledge, in addition to his great contributions to humanitarian and charitable works that inure benefit for the society. Since its inception, the Award has been awarded to more than 45 scientists, researchers, academics and artists from various Arab countries.
